Well it certainly has been an interesting four and a half years. We had no idea what we were in for when we drove six hours to Louisville on April Fool's Day 2007, loaded up a truck with 25,000 records in a torrential downpour, got stuck in the mud which kept us there an extra day, and then drove back home in a blinding blizzard. How many warning signs did we need? Not the sharpest needles on the turntable.
So that's how it began with us and Platterpus.com. Since then we've met some great people, found some great records. But, to quote Bob Seger, it's time to turn the page. Platterpus is going the way of the Dodo. But don't be sad. In its place is something new, something exciting. Let me introduce you to Cheap Kiss Records. Same great records, same great service, same great owners (cough, cough). So really, nothing has changed except the name. I know, I know...we'll all miss the blind duck. But he will always be with us in spirit.
So keep checking back to this blog. We'll be sharing stories of our vinyl buying road adventures, songs that we can't get out of our heads, record buying stories from our youth, warehouse sale information and anything else that pops into our heads.
Check out cheapkissrecords.com frequently. New stock is added almost daily.
We thank you for sticking with us in our new adventure. And always remember...CDs rot, hard drives crash, but vinyl is forever!
