Record Store Day Is On The Way!

Record Store Day is less than a month away. And you know what? We have too much fun planned to keep it contained to just one day. So we will also be celebrating The Day After Record Store Day as well!

We will celebrate Record Store Day on Saturday April 20th (the same day as the rest of the world) at our Villa Park location (22 S. Villa Ave., southwest corner of Villa and St. Charles Rd., inside Cornerstone Used Books) We will be there from 9AM 'til noon. We are trying to get as many exclusive Record Store Day releases as possible. Items are very limited, but we are doing our best. We hope you understand that we won't be able to get everything on everybody's wish list. We have placed our order with the distributor.  What we wind up getting is a total crapshoot. So fingers crossed that we get what you're looking for.

Also, we will be celebrating The Day After Record Store Day on April 21st at our Schaumburg warehouse (700 Albion Ave.) We won't be able to bring all of our records to Villa Park, so we'll just keep them where they're at and open up on Sunday. We will be there from noon 'til 4:00 on Sunday. Big discounts on all items.

 

And we are very pleased to announce our special guest performer for The Day After Record Store Day will be singer/songwriter/producer Mike Viola. The name might not ring a bell for some, but you know his voice and you have heard his songs. He was the man behind the mic for "That Thing You Do". Yep, that's his voice on the title track of the awesome Tom Hanks film. He also wrote songs for "Walk Hard - The Dewey Cox Story", "Get Him To The Greek" and all sorts of other film projects.  He was leader of the band The Candy Butchers and has also released a bunch of stellar solo albums. If you're a fan of pure pop songcraft, check him out. We are honored that he will be stopping by our HQ. His performance on Sunday April 21st in Schaumburg will begin at 1:00.

'Tis the season for vinyl!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas! Okay, not really. It was 70 degrees the other day. In December. Really? Are we in the right hemisphere? Oh well, we won't let that bring us down. Come on out this weekend and load up on some vinyl gifts for your friends and family (or yourself!). Lots of new stuff brought in the last couple of weeks, including a couple of nice jazz collections. All sorts of discounts, of course. We're starting to run out of room. Gotta move stuff out!

October Warehouse Sale

This month's warehouse sale will be on Saturday October 20th. We will be there from 9:00AM 'til 3:00PM. Loads of goodies. You should check it out. No, really.

Hello Vinyl Friends,

It has been eleven different kinds of crazy these last few months, but here we are ready to do it again.  Our friends at Cornerstone Used Books in Villa Park have done a great job of making vinyl available during normal retail hours.  But now it's time to tie one on tomorrow (Saturday August 18th) at our warehouse. 

We have scored some amazing records over the past few months.  Anyone that made it

out to the June sale saw the first half of the killer psych/garage/classic rock collection.  We made it through the rest and have the final 500 LPs to offer up.  Lots of killer stuff that you just don't see everyday across all genres.  From Ramones to Zappa, Bo Diddley to Buddy Holly, Floyd to Zeppelin. Lots of Psych, Jazz, New Wave, Classic Rock etc.

We finally got around to pricing a bunch of better 45s and all warehouse inventory $10 or under is HALF OFF!

Warehouse sale!

People have been asking. We can finally tell.  Our next warehouse sale (the first at the new location) will be on Saturday June 23rd, from 9AM 'til 3:00PM. We've acquired some nice collections in the past few weeks.  You'll definitely want to come and check 'em out.  We'll have a few thousand new records since the last sale for you to peruse. Lots of nice rock and jazz. And other fun stuff, of course.

The sale will be at 700 Albion Ave. in Schaumburg.  Look for the Ink Well Printing sign out front.  Park in the rear and enter from that way as well.

It will be good to see everyone again.  We have missed hanging with our vinyl friends!

The Vinyl Has Landed!

Just a quick heads up to let you know that we just dropped off a heaping load of records by our friends at Cornerstone Used Books in Villa Park. A bunch of great Classic Rock, New Wave and Alternative. The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Rolling Stones, Neil Young, Frank Zappa, The Smiths/Morrissey,...all sorts of goodies. So get on over to 22 S. Villa Ave. (the SW corner of Villa Ave. and St. Charles Rd.) and snatch them up before they're gone. And they will go quick!

The fine folks at Cornerstone have been kind enough to let us make their store a second home for Cheap Kiss Records. Of course you can still shop online at cheapkissrecords.com. We'll be happy to ship records out to you. Or you can place your order online and pick up your order at our Schaumburg warehouse. But we like flipping through record bins as much as the next guy. So for those that like to do that as well, we suggest you check out CKR@Cornerstone. They are open weekdays from 10:00 AM 'til 6:00 PM, and from 9:00 AM 'til 5:00 PM on Saturdays (closed Sundays). We have a couple of thousand LPs there at the moment. If reaction is good we will be adding more.

We are still going to have our warehouse sales (next one is scheduled for the end of June, exact date to be announced soon), but in between those we will be running inventory on over to Cornerstone. This will give you the opportunity to pick up some goodies more frequently than every two months. And during more normal business hours. So please do check it out. They are super nice people over there. And they have a TON of books. So if you're also into reading, you'll be in hog heaven.
